Singapore could see 2,000 Covid-19 deaths yearly: Janil
#1

Singapore could eventually see about 2,000 Covid-19 deaths a year despite  the best possible medical care, most of whom will be the elderly and those already unwell.

On it's part, the Government seeks to use a combination of high vaccination rates, booster jabs and natural immunity from mild infections to stop the disease from spreading as an epidemic here, said Senior Minister of State for Health Janil Puthucheary.

Dr Janil yesterday said Singapore's Covid-19 death rate is one of the lowest in the world at 0.2 per cent, compared with 3 per cent or higher in countries that experienced a surge in cases before vaccination.  The Republic has seen 421 death so far.

This rate of 0.2 per cent is comparable with catching pneumonia, he told Parliament. Every year before the pandemic, about 4,000 patients would die as a result of influenza, viral pneumonia and other respiratory diseases....

5 NONSENCE from Janil.

1) Our e- contributor said yesterday. 2,000/ 365 means only 5.5 death cases per day.
But the useless PAP has bad performance for past 40  days.

2) "Best possible medical care" yet so many die?
Means that SG Medical Care is LOUSY, lah.
Why twist and turn like disGRace?

3) "use High Vaccination Rates"
But last year, we were not vaccinated and only a few died compared to 85% vaccinated this year and 350 people died

4) "Lowest death rate" ?#!
But the fact is HIGHEST death rate as compared to many other countries
