Of the new cases, 770 were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 7,267 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.
Among the PCR cases, 739 were local transmissions and 31 were imported cases. Among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 7,025 local transmissions and 242 imported cases.

All along we are still using the same test kits even though the virus keeps changing. Are all the test kits from different brands still up to date? Did some tests the spike only?

I think we should not be looking merely at numbers but also the type of virus.
If we have 8000 Delta variant cases, that's alarming. If it were the Wuhan grandpa virus, it would be more than alarming.
But the current variant....???
We need to compare like with like. The current one is mild. Also we are now vaccinated, largely.
It's like currency...to give an analogy.
If you have SGD 8000, well that's quite a bit of money to eat a few months of good food. But if it is Rs 8,000, that's not a lot of money for you to go jiak ho liao right.
So just comparing a number is not meaningful if you don't look at which virus it is.

This virus is a special one. It is not like the normal flu virus.
