"From next month, the Singapore government is expected to begin giving payouts to retrenched Singaporean workers under a new unemployment benefits scheme for those aged 21 and above. Payouts will be capped at S$6,000 (US$4,500) over six months without any spending conditions attached for recipients."

I am always on temp assignments

and short-term contracts so will NEVER be able to get any permanent job

for an official retrenchment

It does not help me in the past nor future.

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

Late Lee Kuan Yew  described Singapore as a "fair, not welfare, society".

Welfare states were said to harm competition and economic growth by creating a reliance on others instead of self-reliance and hard work.

What makes our leaders decided to replace the trampoline with safety net ?

Why taken so long to notice the trampoline allowing to bounce ups and downs was in fact, a total failure ?

Why now and not much earlier?

Just the same as Covid19, Govt never do anything right.

Today, why no one strongly opposes or stood up against unemployment benefits ?

It only shows all were hypocrites and BS'ing thru their teeth for more than 50 years.
