Slovakia likely to hand over MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine

Khalino Air Base was a key Russian stronghold, packed with advanced defenses home to devastating glide bomb campaigns. But in a brilliantly executed strike, Ukraine obliterated this "impenetrable fortress." Using drones & ATACMS missiles, Ukraine outsmarted Russia’s radar air defenses, taking out critical systems & dealing a major blow to its war effort. Its important to remember here are air-to-ground bombs with propulsion system longer range ATACMS missiles achieve ranges of up to 170 miles when launched from high altitudes.

Its remarkably the last U.S. President, Joe Biden had send them be4 SAO Trump can though them last year 2024.

For nearly 3-years, US has mobilized world to support people for Ukraine in their defense of freedom against Russian aggression & had been one of Biden administration’s top priorities to provide Ukraine with support it needs to prevail. ( Big Grin ) During that time, Ukraine won Battle of Kyiv, reclaimed more than half of the territory that Russia took at beginning of the war, safeguarded its sovereignty & independence. Clapping

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — A peace proposal by the SAO Trump  gang includes recognizing Russian authority on Crimea shocked Ukrainian officials & folks, they will not accept any formal surrender of the peninsula, even though they expect to concede the territory to the Kremlin, at least temporarily. Giving up land was illegally they annexed by Russia in 2014.
is also politically & legally, according to experts. It would require a change to the Ukrainian constitution a nationwide vote, and it could be considered treason. Lawmakers and the public are firmly opposed to the idea.

“It doesn’t mean anything,” said Oleksandr Merezkho, a lawmaker with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s party. “We will never recognize Crimea as part of Russia.”
Unlike a territorial concession, a formal surrender would permanently relinquish Crimea and abandon the hope that Ukraine could regain it in the future.

MOSCOW, May 4 (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin said in remarks published on Sunday that Russia had sufficient strength and resources to take the war in Ukraine to its logical conclusion, though he hoped that there would be no need to use nuclear weapons. Putin ordered thousands of Russian troops into Ukraine in February 2022, triggering Europe's biggest ground conflict since World War Two and largest confrontation between Moscow and the West since depths of the Cold War.

Ukraine unveiled a minefield breakthrough to neutralized Russia’s summer offensive b4 it began. Facing motorcycle-mounted Russian troops bypassing traditional anti-tank mines, Ukrainian engineers rewired their defenses with trip-wire triggers and mixed anti-personnel solutions. Strategy was deployed during assaults near Druzhba & Dylivka, w/modified mines eliminating dozens of bikes. Russian losses exceed 10,700 tanks, 22,500 armored vehicles, and nearly 960,000 soldiers dead, wounded, or captured.
Motorbike were intended outmaneuver drones & mines, Ukraine’s quick flipped. Verified shows Russian motorcybike had destroyed en masse, confirming Ukraine’s frontline advantage. Cool

Some Russian soldiers took desperate measures, camouflaging themselves with simple trash bags, which was a natural recipe for disaster. The frontline, especially areas surrounding dense trenchlines and positions, is surrounded by scattered trash used by soldiers on both sides, so trash bags are common to see. However, human-sized trash bags walking and stopping out in the open are less common, immediately triggering red flags for Ukrainian drone operators monitoring the line. Because the trash bags also completely blinded them to their surroundings, they unaware they had already been spotted by Ukrainian drones, Ukrainian FPVs rapidly approaching & killing both is unfortunately for Russians, are detected subsequent destruction of these two soldiers correctly alerted Ukrainians to fact both Russians stop further assaults in this area as drones took to the skies, easily able to detect virtually blind Russian soldiers running around hiding under plastic coverings.

Ukraine has stabilized situation in the Pokrovsk direction of Donetsk Oblast, and in some areas seized the tactical initiative, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported. Pokrovsk, located about 70 kilometers northwest of Donetsk, remains one of the most fiercely contested sectors of the front, where Russia has concentrated its main offensive efforts since March.

"The Pokrovsk direction is one of the most difficult sections of the front... However, thanks to the courage and skillful actions of the soldiers of the Defense Forces, we managed to stabilize the situation in this operational zone in the Donetsk region in some places seize the tactical initiative," Syrskyi said post on social media. Syrskyi highlighted the performance of 425th separate assault regiment "Skala," describing unit capable of effective active defense. The regiment demonstrated its effectiveness earlier this year near village of Shevchenko, approximately 3 km southwest of Pokrovsk during 2022 Kharkiv offensive, he said. "Soldiers, sergeants, officers, you fulfill your tasks with honor. Ukraine believes in you, you can always be relied on. Once again, I express my sincere gratitude to you," Syrskyi added.

Ukraine, Europe's ceasefire proposal includes US security guarantees, no recognition of Crimea, Reuters reports.
A copy of the peace proposal given to the U.S. by Ukrainian & European officials earlier this week includes "robust security guarantees" including Washington, and no talks on territorial concessions until a "full and unconditional ceasefire in the sky, on land & at sea" has been implemented, Reuters reported on April 25. Document, reprinted in full by news outlet, contains numerous points that show diverging viewpoints of U.S. on one side, & Ukraine and its European allies on other as they seek end Russia's full-scale invasion. Sao Trump admin has so far refused to offer Kyiv any security guarantees, but Ukrainian proposal calls for "Article 5-like agreement" backed by U.S. as NATO membership for Kyiv remains off table. Earlier this week it was reported U.S. could give de jure recognition to Russia's control over occupied Crimea, but Ukrainian and European proposal insist "territorial issues will be discussed & resolved after a full and unconditional ceasefire."

Volker on peace talks between Ukraine, Russia 'I don't think Putin will agree to a peace agreement ever' — Volker on peace talks between Ukraine, Russia. Kurt Volker, a former U.S. special representative for Ukraine, does not believe Russian Putin will ever agree to a negotiated peace deal, he said during an open discussion on May 9 at American University Kyiv, attended by the Kyiv Independent journalist. Trump admin has been attempting to bring Kyiv/Moscow to the negotiating table. Yet, progress has been limited. Trump's team has pressured Kyiv to make concessions to Russia without applying visible pressure on Moscow to halt its aggression.

Volker said now "there is more alignment" between Ukraine & U.S. under Trump Admin than at beginning of 2025, when U.S. Trump & Vice President JD Vance sharply criticized President Zelensky over what they described as "a lack of gratitude for U.S. support." According to Volker, talks between U.S., Ukraine & Russia has shown  latter is not willing to end war, is shifting pressure point away from Kyiv to Moscow. don't think Putin will agree to a peace agreement ever, Volker said. "I think we'll end up with a standoff."

‘The front is noisy’ — for Ukraine’s soldiers, Russia’s Victory Day ‘ceasefire’ is yet another sham". He (Putin) wants to play games, he wants to see what he can get the Trump admin & West to give him for free. He wants to try a summer offensive & see if he can grab more territory. He wants to see if his financial situation improves. So, he's going to play this for a while," Volker said. Volker suggested Putin would agree to a ceasefire later in the fall if the allies succeed in imposing tougher sanctions on Russian gas, oil, & financial transactions, the Kremlin's financial situation worsens, & a potential summer offensive fizzles.
