Ukrainian drones struck the city of Krasnozavodsk in Russia's Moscow Oblast on July 7, possibly targeting the Krasnozavodsk Chemical Plant, Russian independent media outlet Astra reported. The plant, located 88 kilometers (55 miles) northeast of Moscow, produces industrial and military-grade chemicals, including explosives, ammunition components, and aircraft protection systems. Established in 1915, the plant is one of the city's largest employers and plays a key role in Russia's defense-industrial complex. Its location in Krasnozavodsk places it roughly 530 kilometers (329 miles) from the Ukrainian border. It is affiliated with the Russian state defense conglomerate Rostec and supplies the Defense Ministry, Interior Ministry, Federal Security Service (FSB), and other law enforcement agencies. Another site is in... A Ukrainian drone strike hit a facility overnight in Russia’s industrial city of Izhevsk, more than 1,000 kilometers east of Moscow, killing three people and seriously injuring 35, according to Udmurtia's regional governor. Aleksandr Brechalov said on July 1 that the attack targeted an industrial facility in the regional capital, but he did not specify which one. He confirmed that the wounded are receiving medical care in a city hospital that psychologists are working w/victims and their families.
Ukrainian sources claimed responsibility for the strike, stating that the Kupol Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant was the target. The plant is a key player in Russia's defense industry, known for producing the Tor surface-to-air missile system and the Garpia-A1 combat drone, making it a high-value military-industrial asset in the region. Social media channels & Telegram posts shared video footage purportedly capturing the moment of the drone's impact and a subsequent explosion.
In response to incident, Rosaviatsiya, Russia's federal aviation agency, announced temporary closure of Izhevsk airport, as well as airports in Saratov, Kazan, Ulyanovsk, and Nizhnekamsk.
Izhevsk is a significant hub for Russia's defense industry. home to enterprises such as the Kalashnikov Group weapons manufacturer & has been a critical node in Russia's military supply chain.
According to Russia's Defense Ministry, the attack in Izhevsk was part of a larger overnight Ukrainian drone offensive.
The ministry claimed to have shot down 60 drones across several regions, including Ukraine's Russia-annexed Crimea as well as Rostov, Kursk, Saratov, Belgorod, Voronezh, Oryol,& territories around Azov Sea & the Black Sea.
The ministry said drones had been intercepted and did not provide any damage evaluations. Residents in the Saratov region, located near Kazakhstan, reported hearing explosions during the night. Saratov Governor acknowledged the drone threat in those area. Saratov region is home to strategic infrastructure, including Engels-2 air base, which hosts Russia's strategic bombers, the Tu-95MS & Tu-160.
One of Russia's largest oil refineries, Taneco, is located in the nearby city of Nizhnekamsk in Tatarstan. Also in Tatarstan, there is Alabuga Special Economic Zone in the town of Yelabuga, where Shahed-type drones used by Russia in Ukraine are being assembled.
These are sites have been previously targeted in past drone assaults, indicating a persistent Ukrainian strategy aimed at degrading Russia's military-industrial capabilities deep inside its own territory.

Located more than 1,300 kilometers (800 miles) from the front line, the plant produces Tor and Osa air defense systems, as well as Harpy-type attack drones. It is under international sanctions as part of Russia's defense-industrial complex. Two drones hit their intended targets during the strike with one flying through the windows of one workshop, & the 2nd hitting the roof of another, causing an explosion and fire. The resulting blaze led to the collapse of 1,300 square meters of roofing, Astra reported 4-workshops were destroyed in the first building complex, reportedly halting operations in areas responsible for metalworking, microchip soldering, and drone production.
Udmurt Republic Governor Alexander Brechalov said on June 1 that three people were killed and 45 injured in the attack, including 35 hospitalizations and six in serious condition. Astra earlier reported that no air raid siren was issued in Izhevsk ahead of the attack. Residents claimed to be unable to receive emergency alerts due to persistent mobile internet outages.
Ukraine's General Staff confirmed the strike via its official Telegram channel, framing it as part of Kyiv's campaign to degrade Russia's defense-industrial base far from the front. The plant was previously targeted in a Ukrainian drone strike on Nov. 17, 2024. That attack damaged equipment used to produce Tor missile systems and radar components.
Izhevsk, capital of the Udmurt Republic, is known as a center of Russia's arms manufacturing industry & the birthplace of the Kalashnikov rifle. Latest attack underscores Ukraine's capacity to strike deep into Russian territory. And Germany has order 500 such drones for Ukraine, it used German make drone engine with a speed of 400 km/hour, carry 50 pound when compare with Germany make original missiles that travels much speedy at thousand km & can carry a 500 pound bomb. Germany’s Taurus missiles that Ukraine wants?, but Germany cannot release to Ukraine
In another confirmed case Ukrainian even go deepest attacks of its kind into Russia since start of Russia / Putin’s full-scale invasion as far as one Kyiv claimed last May, reportedly hit an early-warning radar in Russian city of Orsk, 1,800km (1,120 miles) Ukraine said.

Ukraine: US President Donald Trump has said his administration will send more weapons to Ukraine after an earlier decision to halt some arms shipments drew condemnation from Kyiv.
Speaking to reporters ahead of a dinner with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, DC on Monday, Trump said new shipments would be primarily comprised of “defensive weapons”.
“We’re going to send some more weapons. We have to. They have to be able to defend themselves,” Trump said.
“They are getting hit very hard now.”
Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed Trump’s comments later on Monday, saying Washington would provide “additional defensive weapons” to “ensure Ukrainians can defend themselves while we work to secure a lasting peace and ensure the killing stops”. Parnell added Trump would continue to evaluate military shipments overseas in accordance with “our America First defence priorities”.
The decision also followed Pentagon’s announcement last week may including air defence missiles and precision-guided artillery. After a phone call with Trump on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had agreed with his US counterpart to work to strengthen Ukraine’s air defences was “looking at” selling more Patriot missiles to Kyiv. “They need them for defence. I don’t want to see people killed,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One.

Here. Ukrainian Armed Forces said it targeted the JSC FNPC Research Institute of Applied Chemistry in Sergiev Posad, a city just northeast of Moscow, more than 500 kilometers (310 miles) away from Ukraine's border. Attack was carried out by units of the Unmanned Systems Forces and other elements of the military. The USF, a first-of-its-kind branch of the armed forces that was established last year, it focuses solely on drone combat, said soldiers of the 14th separate drone regiment were involved in the operation. The USF said at least one drone struck the facility, causing a fire and heavy smoke, and that an electric substation that provided power to the site was damaged. It shared footage purporting to show the moment of the attack and the aftermath. Ukraine said the JSC FNPC Research Institute of Applied Chemistry, part of Russia's state-owned defense conglomerate Rostec, is under international sanctions because of its involvement in the war. The facility develops and manufactures parts for missile and artillery systems, as well as thermobaric warheads for Shahed drones.

President Donald Trump’s Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg will meet with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov in Rome at an international aid conference followed by a meeting in Kyiv this week and next, with the issue of aid sure to be at the top of the agenda. The Ukrainian government sees the resumption of air defense and precision munitions as critical to its war effort, as Russia has hit civilian targets hard in some of the largest drone and missile strikes of the war over the last two weeks.
The U.S. has indicated to Kyiv that deliveries of engineering equipment and some armored vehicles will resume soon, though no timeline has been given yet, according to the people, who were granted anonymity to share details of ongoing discussions.
Speaking to reporters on Monday night, Trump confirmed that more aid would be sent to Ukraine but did not offer specifics. “We’re going to send some more weapons. We have to. They have to be able to defend themselves. They’re getting hit very hard now ... We have to send more weapons, defensive weapons, primarily, but they’re getting hit very, very hard. So many people are dying in that mess.” The Pentagon did not respond to a request for comment.
The Kyiv meeting between Kellogg and Umerov was not originally intended to address U.S. military aid, and was “set up before news of the arms pause came to light last week,” Kellogg spokesperson Morgan Murphy said in response to a request for comment about the meetings.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth did not inform White House b4 he authorized pause on weapons shipments to Ukraine last week, 5 sources familiar with the matter, setting off a scramble inside the admin to understand why halt was implemented & explain it to Congress the Ukrainian govt. President Donald Trump suggested on Tuesday, he was not responsible for the move. Asked on Tuesday during a Cabinet meeting whether he approved of pause in shipments, Trump demurred, saying only US would continue to send defensive weapons to Ukraine. Pressed again on who authorized the pause, Trump replied, “I don’t know, why don’t you tell me?” The episode underscores often-haphazard policy-making process inside Trump admin, particularly under Hegseth at Defense Dept. Pause was 2nd time this year Hegseth had decided to halt flow of US weapons to Ukraine, catching senior national security officials off guard, sources said.
First happened in February & decision was quickly reversed, 3 of the sources said — mirroring what happened on Monday night, when Trump announced weapons shipments continue despite Hegseth signing off on the pause. US special envoy to Ukraine, Ret. Gen. Keith Kellogg,& Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is also Trump’s national security adviser, were not told about the pause be4 hand, learned about it from press reports, according to a senior admin official & two of the sources.
Pentagon press secretary Kingsley Wilson told CNN in a statement said in part, “Secretary Hegseth provided a framework for President to evaluate military aid shipments, assess existing stockpiles. This effort was coordinated across govt.” Asked whether Hegseth informed White House prior to approving a pause on the shipments, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement that Pentagon conducted a review “to ensure all support going to all foreign nations aligns with America’s interests,”& added Trump “has made the decision to continue providing defensive weapons to Ukraine to help stop killing in this brutal war, which Pentagon has said they are actively working on.” She added that “the President has full confidence in the Secretary of Defense.”
Two of the sources attributed Hegseth’s not informing the White House to the fact that he has no chief of staff or trusted advisers around him that might urge him to coordinate major policy decisions better with the interagency partners. Trump told Hegseth to restart some shipments. Shortly after learning of the pause last week, Trump told Hegseth to restart the shipment of at least some of the munitions — specifically, interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems, which have been critical to protecting Ukrainian civilians from relentless missile and drone attacks by Russia. Many of the munitions are already in Poland and could be transferred to Kyiv quickly, the senior administration official said. The weapons package had been allocated by the previous administration was already en route to Ukraine when it was stopped. In a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday, Trump downplayed his role in the decision to halt the flow of weapons, CNN reported.
The Pentagon did not announce until late Monday night, however, that it would restart shipments at the direction of the president — after Trump had said publicly earlier in the evening that the Ukrainians needed the defensive weapons to protect themselves.
Trump reiterated that position on Tuesday at the White House. “I will say this — the Ukrainians, whether you think it’s unfair that we gave all that money or not, they were very brave, be4 somebody had to operate that stuff,” he said. “And a lot of people I know wouldn’t be operating it, they wouldn’t have the courage to do it.” Trump also appears less inclined to give Russia a “win” at this moment by halting military aid to Ukraine, two sources said. He soured on Russian President Vladimir Putin in recent weeks as it has become increasingly clear Putin is not willing to engage in peace talks with Ukraine.
“We get a lot of bulls**t thrown at us by Putin,” Trump said on Tuesday. “You want to know the truth? It’s very nice all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless.” A European official told CNN that Trump’s frustration with Putin was clear during NATO summit in the Netherlands last month, and their understanding was the pause in weapons shipments to Ukraine “genuinely did not originate” with Trump.

Trump requested assessment of US weapons stockpiles but not pause to Ukraine shipments. Pentagon’s decision to suspend shipments of weapons — including Patriot interceptor missiles & artillery ammunition — came after Trump asked Hegseth last month during their trip to the NATO summit to provide him with an assessment of US weapons stockpiles, sources told CNN. Iran & Israel were bombing each other, and Trump wanted to be sure US troops in the region had sufficient munitions to defend themselves if necessary.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed last week that the department was conducting “a capability review … to ensure US military aid aligns with our defense priorities.”
But Trump did not specifically direct Hegseth to halt weapons shipments to Ukraine as part of that review, three of the sources said. That recommendation came from Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby, all five sources said, who has long been skeptical of sending large quantities of US military aid to Ukraine. “A Europe first policy is not what America needs in this exceptionally dangerous time. We need to focus on China and Asia - clearly,” Colby wrote on X last year. Colby then provided his recommendations to Deputy Secretary of Defense Steve Feinberg, who approved of the move — particularly because of his longstanding concerns, the defense industry is not moving fast enough to replenish US stockpiles, sources said. Hegseth provided the final signoff, thinking it would align w/Trum
“America first” priorities, one of the sources familiar with his thinking said.
After the White House learned about the pause, White House officials told Hegseth and DoD that they would temporarily provide “cover” for the decision, two of the sources said. But the White House emphasized that the Pentagon had to explain the move to Congress, which also had not been informed of the pause beforehand.
Pentagon officials have argued to congressional staffers in recent days that the move was necessary because of US stockpile shortages, according to two sources familiar with the matter. But the sources said Congress has not been briefed on or given any information from the Pentagon that would suggest a critical and imminent shortage of weapons. “Congress would be glad to work with DoD if credible evidence was presented that the Pentagon stockpiles were critically short, requiring them to take unilateral action like they did last week,” one of the sources said. The Pentagon routinely requests additional funding and authorization from Congress for long-term weapons procurement. “But there have been no new urgent requirements submitted to Congress from DoD for any of these munitions,” this person added.

In response to incident, Rosaviatsiya, Russia's federal aviation agency, they
announced a temporary closure of Izhevsk airport, as well as airports in Saratov, Kazan, Ulyanovsk, and Nizhnekamsk.
Izhevsk is a significant hub for Russia's defense industry. home to enterprises such as the Kalashnikov Group weapons manufacturer & has been a critical node in Russia's military supply chain.vAccording to Russia's Defense Ministry, the attack in Izhevsk was part of a larger overnight Ukrainian drone offensive.
The ministry claimed to have shot down 60 drones across several regions, including Ukraine's Russia-annexed Crimea as well as Rostov, Kursk, Saratov, Belgorod, Voronezh, Oryol,& territories around Azov Sea & the Black Sea.
Russia ministry said drones had been intercepted, did not provide any damage evaluations. Residents in the Saratov region, located near Kazakhstan, reported hearing explosions during night. Saratov Governor acknowledged drone threat in those area. Saratov region is home to strategic infrastructure, including Engels-2 air base, which hosts Russia's strategic bombers, the Tu-95MS & Tu-160.
Then again. One of Russia's largest oil refineries, Taneco, is located in nearby city of Nizhnekamsk in Tatarstan. Also in Tatarstan, there's a Alabuga Special Economic Zone in town of Yelabuga, *where Shahed-type drones used by Russia on Ukraine r being assembled.
Here!. Sites have been previously targeted in past drone assaults, indicating a persistent Ukrainian strategy aimed at degrading Russia's military-industrial capabilities deep inside its own territory.
Overnight, Ukraine launched precision drone strikes deep into Russian territory, once again shattering illusion that Putin’s regime can protect, its own people.
These attacks crippled critical infrastructure & also forced mass flight cancellations across Moscow, to St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, and beyond.
To conceal this mass scale of disaster, Kremlin imposed internet blackouts across 69 regions, cutting millions of Russians off from the outside world. In a desperation, the Kremlin fired the Minister of Transport & seized assets of oligarch Konstantin Strukov, nationalized his gold empire, & escalated a wave of purges on FSB & military to turned on each other.
This video exposes how Ukraine’s relentless drone warfare is dismantling Russia’s empire. And it fueling public outrage plus igniting a legitimacy crisis that *Putin try but can't longer contain.
This explanation why continue drones strikes may mark the beginning of the end for Russia’s war machine starting from here toward year of 2026 and then toward into year 2027.

to deliver new IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine under a three-year supply plan.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a joint press conference with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, who added Berlin has no plans to provide Taurus long-range missiles. The announcement comes amid escalating Russian aerial assaults, including a June 10 missile and drone strike on Kyiv by Russia, one of the largest since start of full-scale invasion. "We are grateful for the supply of IRIS-T air defense systems," Zelensky said on June 12.
"We understand that deliveries are currently being planned... for the next three years. It is a very important assistance." The IRIS-T is a German-made medium-range surface-to-air missile system capable of intercepting drones, aircraft, and cruise missiles. First being delivered to Ukraine in late 2022, system has been at core of country's transition to Western-made high-end air defense systems.
Pistorius confirmed the delivery timeline but firmly ruled out the possibility of sending Taurus missiles — weapons Kyiv has repeatedly requested to strike deep into Russian territory. "You asked me whether we are considering this, and my answer is no," Pistorius said. Be4 taking office, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz signaled openness to lifting former Chancellor Olaf Scholz's ban on the missiles. Stance has not yet resulted in a policy shift. Ukraine already received long-range missiles — including ATACMS from the U.S. and Storm Shadow and SCALP from the U.K. and France. Initially restricted to use within Ukrainian territory, Western allies only began easing those limitations in late 2024. Germany is Ukraine's largest military donor in Europe. Zelensky said that Berlin will provide 7 billion euros ($8.1 billion) in aid this year, with investments in defense production being considered.
"Today, we discussed aid will continue," he said. "We agreed on additional investments in production... both in Ukraine and in Germany." Zelensky visited Berlin on May 28 for talks with Merz, part of an ongoing effort to bolster Ukraine's defense industry amid uncertainty over U.S. support under SAO Donald Trump as a stupid U.S. President, he went on to help side with Putin who go on to invade another nation like Ukraine on Feb 2022.
President Donald Trump announced that the US would send weapons to Ukraine via NATO and that Washington’s allies have agreed to pay for the arms supplies. "We send weapons to NATO, and NATO is going to reimburse the full cost of those weapons," the US president said. It will be the first time since returning to office that Trump will send weapons to Kyiv under a presidential power frequently used by his predecessor Joe Biden.
Trump's team will identify arms from US stockpiles under the Presidential Drawdown Authority, that could be worth around $300 million, sources told Reuters. The Presidential Drawdown Authority allows the US president to draw from weapons stocks to help allies in an emergency.

Today we're getting into the recent changes around US and international support for Ukraine. For the first time in his administration, President Trump has signaled a desire to increase military aid, Germany has released the Taurus long range missile, and the Coalition of the Willing reiterates their plans to put boots on the ground in Ukraine once a ceasefire is reached. We look at the overall aid packages in the process of moving forward and recent Russian strikes into Ukraine.

Among other candidates reportedly considered for U.S. ambassadorial role were incumbent Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna & Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
Zelensky articulated need for a strong ambassador to U.S., one "tobe strong a
& tobe in context of the most important thing, in context of strengthening Ukraine — through weapons, first of all. Therefore, one of my ideas is that it can be Ukraine's defense minister."
A source familiar with matter told the Kyiv Independent on July 7 that the possibility of a new ambassador was discussed during a recent phone call between Zelensky & U.S. President Donald Trump. According to this source, Kyiv raised the topic, suggesting the change could be "useful for both sides," & noted that multiple "strong candidates" were in consideration.
Despite the potential change, Zelensky expressed gratitude for Markarova's service: "I am grateful to Oksana Markarova... I can't tell you what will be the continuation of her work, a lot depends on her... I would like her to continue working in Ukraine."
Umerov was appointed Ukraine’s defense minister in September 2023. Be4 this, he served as member of parliament, headed State Property Fund, a key Ukraine’s delegation to negotiations with Russia at outset of full-scale invasion in 2022.
When direct talks between Kyiv/Moscow resumed in 2025, Umerov led Ukrainian delegation in two rounds of negotiations.

The strike stopped 4 million cubic meters of gas—inflicting over $1.3 million USD in immediate losses and disrupting Russia’s war logistics.
That same night, the chemical plant in Belgorod was engulfed in flames—highlighting a wave of confirmed Ukrainian drone attacks deep inside Russia.
Meanwhile, over Kyiv, Ukraine’s Clear Sky interceptor system intercepted 60+ Russian Shahed drones in one engagement. With a $6.2 million USD defense investment, Kyiv’s AI-powered turrets and autonomous UAVs have now shot down 550+ drones, neutralizing Russia’s aerial advantage.
This is not chaos—it’s a calculated drone doctrine: Intercept. Disrupt. Strike Deep. Ukraine is showing how swift innovation, multidomain tactics, and precision warfare can dismantle even the largest armies.

Germany-funded long-range weapons to arrive in Ukraine by late July, general says:
Ukraine'll begin receiving hundreds of domestically produced long-range weapon systems by end of July under a German-financed agreement, German Major General Christian Freuding told the German ZDF news channel on July 11.
Weapons will be supplied in a "high triple-digit quantity," he said, referring to deal between Ukraine's Defense Ministry & local arms producers that Berlin agreed to fund in late May. "We need weapons that can reach far into the depth of Russian. Ukraine is developing a number of long-range capabilities, including ballistic missiles, long-range drones, and drone-missile hybrids to strike deep inside the Russian rear amid dwindling stockpiles of Western long-range weapons.
Ukrainian military has previously received the Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles from U.K. & France & ATACMS from U.S., but Germany so far refused to supply its own Taurus cruise missiles.
Freuding did not confirm whether Berlin plans to greenlight supply of Taurus missiles when asked byreporter. The general, spoke from Kyiv, acknowledged battlefield situation remains "militarily tense," w/Russian forces holding the initiative for "several weeks, if not months," & increased pressure on major Ukrainian cities from the air. The general also said Germany ongoing negotiations with U.S. over potential purchase & transfer of 1 or 2 Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, describing talks as "ongoing for weeks at all levels." Ukraine has been calling on its partners to enhance its air defence capabilities, as Russia has escalated its large-scale aerial attacks on Ukrainian cities, including those far from front line.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on May 28 that Berlin would help finance production & procurement of Ukrainian-made long-range weapons systems. He
made the comments during a joint press conference with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Berlin, where he also announced support for continuing Starlink satellite op in Ukraine. "There will be no restrictions on long-range weapons," Merz said at the time. "Ukraine will be able to fully defend itself and also strike military targets outside the territory of Ukraine." Merz described the deal as "the beginning of a new form of military-industrial cooperation between our countries."
