Ukrainian president has vowed to keep up military pressure on Russian-occupied Crimea.. Zelenskiy’s comments came in a video address to a security conference in Prague on Tuesday that was marred by technical glitches and a possible hacking, Reuters reports. Crimea, was seized & annexed by Moscow in 2014, as Ukrainian forces press on with a near 5-month counteroffensive, disrupted by technical faults, including one intermittently modulated his voice to a higher pitch.

Zelenskiy said the “illusion” of Russia’s domination of Crimea and the Black Sea had been shattered. He said: Russian (Black Sea) fleet is no longer operate in western part of Black Sea and is gradually fleeing from Crimea. And this is a historic achievement.
Ukrainian attacks in & around Crimea have included strikes on a Russian airbase on the peninsula, a Black Sea fleet command post in Sevastopol, and the only bridge linking Crimea to Russia.

Slovakia - previously one of Ukraine's supporters in the war against Russia - will make a U-turn in foreign policy under Fico's leadership. Slovakia has until now been a staunch supporter of Kyiv since Russia invaded in February last year, donating arms and opening its borders for refugees fleeing the war.

Putin killing? breaches his own Russia forces again. A terrifying weapon detonated be drone hits, it lead to a giant secondary explosion producing a massive fireball & sends debris flying in all directions.

More then 3-weeks into offensive has been an undisputed failure so far. As Russian soldier has overheard over phone call to mother describing huge losses “whole forest…dotted with dead soldiers attempts to attack Ivanivka, the intercepted call published by Ukraine's Intelligence Directorate (HUR), soldier says his fellow troops don’t stand a chance in face of armoured vehicles, snipers and machine gunners, resulting in huge losses.

"There's such a slaughter going on there!” he says. “More than thousand were killed there. The first, and second battalion was thrown forward - there's a hell of a lot of 200s [code for dead], even more 300s [code for wounded]."

Ukraine used US long-range missiles known as ATACMS to attack as Ukrainians don't approach (anywhere?) near and is shoot and more shooting, b'cos it a killing zone.

Russia suffered some of its worst losses in 2023 near Avdiivka, & it appears Russian command’s requests once again of more actual military capabilities. Source: UK Defence Intelligence review, 28 October, as reported by European Pravda

Intelligence review says the Russians had deployed units of up to eight brigades near Avdiivka. "These elements have likely suffered some of Russia’s highest casualty rates of 2023" the analysts write.

UK intelligence says that the Russian military bloggers have harshly criticised the command’s tactics. "The nature of the operation suggests that Russia’s core military-political challenge remains the same as it has throughout most of the war.

As Political leaders demand more territory to be seized but the military cannot generate effective operational level offensive action," UK Defence Intelligence states.

The White House has said it had info the Russian military has been executing soldiers who have refused to follow orders. Russian commanders are threatening to execute entire units if they seek to retreat from Ukrainian artillery fire.

The Estonian Defence Forces believe that Russian govt is seeking to gain at least a minimal initiative at least in Ukraine to create an impression of success in the war among fellow Russians on AVDIIVKA.

Each runner chose one person to whom they dedicated their run. Spouses, children, friends, siblings, neighbors, and colleagues ran for someone they knew who either was killed, taken captive or injured during Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine.

His description of recent clashes, the fatigue his unit are experiencing, underscore huge strain the war, now in its 21st mth, is putting on Ukraine's limited resources and on its troops.

The soldiers also know that Russia has a far bigger army and more weapons and ammunition, raising the uncomfortable question of how Ukraine can ever repel the invaders once and for all in Europe's bloodiest conflict since World War Two.

A Major Gennadiy Chastyakov, who served as the assistant to Valery Zaluzhny, had received a gift box from a colleague for his birthday on Monday that contained several “Western model” grenades, Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko wrote on Telegram.

Chastyakov’s 13-year-old son then picked up one of the grenades and started turning the ring, Klymenko wrote. As Chastyakov took the grenade from him, the ring was pulled out and the weapon detonated.

Kyiv regional police reported that the assistant’s son was seriously injured by the explosion, and is being medically treated.

According to Klymenko, police identified the “fellow serviceman” who gave the gift to Chastyakov, and found two similar grenades during a search of his office.

Police said criminal proceedings had been initiated and an investigation is ongoing, though the Ukrainian interior ministry later said it considers the death an “accident” based on preliminary information.
