UK-donated tanks used in Kyiv's Russia incursion. A Challenger 2 Main Battle tank on the 2nd front. Ukraine used it as part of its surprise incursion into Russia, a UK source has confirmed. Ministry of Defence is not officially commenting, saying UK Defence said Ukraine can used weapon even tanks & missiles of what any specific UK weapons can be used by Ukraine.
However, following Kyiv's incursion into Russian territory, the ministry reiterated that Ukraine had "a clear right" to use UK-supplied weapons for "self-defence against Russia's illegal attacks". "That does not preclude operations inside Russia," a spokesman added. "We make clear during the gifting process that equipment is to be used in line with international law."
The policy means anti-tank missiles, artillery, armoured vehicles and other UK-donated weapons could be used during Ukraine's offensive, howeven here!, an exception for UK's Storm Shadow missiles which were originally supplied on understanding they would not be fired at targets inside Russia. The missiles are fired from aircraft, have a range of more than 150 miles, meaning Ukrainian pilots are able to stay further away from front line.
No western country has given Kyiv the green light to use their long-range missiles to strike targets inside Russia. During his visit to Downing Street in July, Ukrainian President Zelensky urged UK work with western allies to "remove limits" on use of the weapons. He told senior ministers giving Ukraine "long-range capability" would force Russia to "seek peace". Defence Secretary John Healey told l BBC, UK was having "intense discussions" on the subject, but he would not go into details in public. The UK was one of the first countries to supply Ukraine with western-made main battle tanks.

With a prewar population of roughly 5,000, it is the biggest town to fall to Ukraine’s troops since the incursion began.

two weeks on, Kyiv forces have captured 92 settlements, advanced more than 1,250 square kilometres, & destroyed or damaged three bridges over the Seym River that are critical supply lines for Russian troops defending Kursk. It shows Moscow that there are vulnerabilities. reminds Muscovites that there's a war going. Kyiv's brash new strategy, starting with the Kursk incursion, marks "a turning point in the war".
Ukrainian position is still improving, and they're not being pushed back yet. Ukrainians are not going to sit around and wait for the Russians to get their act together," Lieutenant General Hodges said.
"I don't know how long Ukrainians plan to stay [in Russia] because they are correctly not advertising this, but my sense is... this is probably not a standalone operation.

Diplomatic tightrope for Modi as he visits Kyiv after Moscow
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Ukraine on Friday, just weeks after he met Russian President Vladimir Putin in MoscowThe visit is significant because Kyiv and some Western capitals had reacted sharply to Mr Modi’s visit to the Russian capital in July.
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky was particularly critical, saying he was “disappointed to see the leader of the world's largest democracy hug the world's most bloody criminal in Moscow”.

The Ukrainian Air Force (UAF) is finally able to support Kyiv’s ground offensive in Kursk Oblast. On Aug. 16, Lt. Gen. Mykola Oleshchuk, the UAF Commander, said, “The Air Force's participates in Kursk front. Ukrainian pilots used high-precision strikes. On Aug. 20, video show Ukrainian fighter aircraft striking at underground Russian command post in Kursk with French Air-Modulaire
(AASM) Hammer GPS-guided bomb. Range max of
AASM is around 50 k/m (32 miles) with a high-altitude launch & 15 k/m (10 miles) with a low-altitude launch, the JDAM-Extended Range (JDAM-ER) has a range of about 72 k/m (45 miles, both JDAM & AASM have to be delivered well within the range of Russian ground-based and air-launched air defense systems.
Forbes, says the risk to aircraft at Kursk salient is significant. Ukrainian military deployed what one Russian blogger characterized as “a significant numbert” of air-defense batteries as well as electronic jammers that can block radio signals and, in some cases, even throw off satellite-guided bombs.”
Russian vulnerabilities. Russian air defense combat aircraft would be expected to maintain air superiority over Russia parts, but of Ukraine air strikes, however, suggest combat aircraft are able to operate more freely more expected, it is allowed to fight against a high-value target on Russian territory suggests Russia lacks in, it has not only crossed declared Russian red lines but also managed to shape battlefield to its advantage.

Aug. 24, 2021, Ukraine's military finest paraded through streets of Kyiv in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the country's Independence Day.
It would be the last time such an event was held, with Russia's full-scale invasion, everything on display would be put to test, with the fate of the entire country resting on the shoulders of those who took part. Ukraine successfully resisted the Kremlin's original plans – what Russian Putin envisaged as a swift campaign to enter Kyiv turned into a grinding war well into third year.
In order to defend itself against Russia over the longer term, Ukraine has both adapt advances in battlefield technology, as well as rely on continued military support of its Western allies. Both these factors mean Ukraine's today looks vastly different to which paraded through streets of Kyiv in 2021.
Drones: just how much Russia's invasion has changed the rules of warfare, one of the best examples is the Bayraktar TB2 drone. Proudly presented as one most modern weapons in Ukraine's arsenal, Bayraktar is already largely obsolete. How Ukraine's military has changed since it last paraded through the streets of Kyiv

Ukraine began buying small numbers of the Turkish-made reconnaissance attack drones in 2019, they were highly-effective, destroying Russian tanks, patrol boats, and even troops as they disembarked from a helicopter.
