Yesterday went for JB one day trip and I can say while sinkies like us complain the price increase I think JHK JHB in JB have it much worst.

A bak chor mee is priced MYR 8-10. Their economic rice choose dish average MYR 8-10. Their bread and other similar price range on average is 2+ times what we sinkie pay. Their only consolation is cheap car and petrol so some drive very far to search for cheap food if they can find of cuz.

Unless JB ppl can find job that pay 2+ times of the same job offering in Spore else their daily necessities quite tough. That also explain those live JB some must die die come Spore earn SGD.

Malaysian people hardly shop and eat at JB, remember Malaysia is a Big country they have many " alternatives ".
Malaysian people know JB is a place " to chop carrot on Singaporeans spending there "

If you travel further up, will noticed things more cheaper in JB.

That is what they do drive car travel further up but in some places food prices really high. Even their fragrant white rice is 2+ times of ours on average. So I can say food necessities for them is high. My spouse younger sis family is JB ppl and a meal out paying MYR 10 for bak chor mee is norm I was stunned. They tell me for a few years is like that already to them is norm. That is why their money monthly pay take back left few savings but they are very proud of their car step accelerator off it goes to ulu places or shopping malls for fun.
