I disagree...too much power to teachers lead to abuse.

And we should never go back to the dark ages where random rotans from teacher does not yeild the desired results but hate and revenge

Bad habits must be corrected at a young age. 
Like plants, it's easy to pull out when the plant is young. 
But when grown into a tree, it's very difficult to pull out.
