Since when has Uncle Sam built railways? Even the great railway across West Coast to East Coast in the U.S. was built by Chinese workers 130 years ago. The U.S. is good at fighting wars rather than building railways and infrastructure. The Philippines is stupid to believe the U.S. will build infrastructure for them. The reason the U.S. gets involved in the SCS conflict is to get the Philippines to fight war with China, nothing more. When President Marcos visited China early last after he won the election China signed a multibillion dollar deal for helping Philippines to develop its railway and infrastructure. Now that Mr Marcos chose to confront with China and bring in the U.S., that deal is forfeited.

Funny thing is Pinoys dream of Uncle Sam building railways for them and Uncle Sam has high hope on Indians for building trans Middle East and India HSR across desert to compete with China’s OBOR…drawing on a peace of paper only, no action after talking.

The Philippines used to be American and Japanese colonies and they love it very much. Some Filipinos I met claim they are Americans or Spaniards and very proud of their Angmoh heritage, however they look nowhere near their colonial masters, they are just Tagalog speaking big mouth poor Pinoy to me.
