SBS 170 sounds familiar to me leh. Is it the one running from Queen street to JB? If I remember correctly used to take this bus long ago when I stayed in Bt Panjang kampong.

For Vans, you will have to register in both countries. MPV can fill up the loophole.

Any private van can take about 6 people cost about SGD 400 to and return JB makan and shopping....pick up and return at your door step ?
