Different lah, in red dot PAP to Opp to neutral ish roughly 5:3:2, and voting ish compulsory, so everyone have to come out to votes and the neutral camp in red dot when force to vote they tend to vote for PAP by default one so not to rock the boat. That why PAP can easily secure over 50% in most area.
In taiwan, the ratio of blue to green to white\neutral in most area in the north ish 4:3:3, while south ish 3:4:3. But for them voting ish voluntary, and like most democratic countries, when voting ish not compulsory a lot of people especially those in the neutral map ish too lazy to come out to vote one.
So their erection ish depend a lot on turnout rate of their base camp. Thus ish very different compare to red dot.
Anyway on national level erection, the green has a better advantage as their overall base camp ish higher, but on local area it may not be the case as it really depend on cities\towns. KMT being a century party even when not govt actually has more advantage in most local erection as they have more support from various local power (glassloot leecher, civil serpents, businessmen, secret society, religion groups etc)
There was a time when the country asked ordinary men to do extraordinary things.
But now, they'll only do it for money.

Taiwan News) — President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) said Saturday (Nov. 26) she was resigning as chairperson of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) after it only won five cities and counties in local elections.
Premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞昌) also tendered his resignation, but Tsai won his agreement to stay on, according to the Liberty Times.
As DPP only maintained its hold on four cities and counties in the south; Kaohsiung, Tainan, Pingtung, and Chiayi County, while winning only Penghu County from the Kuomintang (KMT). The DPP lost Taoyuan City and Keelung City to the KMT and Hsinchu City to the Taiwan People’s Party, while failing to capture Taipei City, which was won by the KMT.

Speaking at a news conference, Tsai said that the election results were not what she expected, so she needed to shoulder responsibility and resign from the party’s leadership, the Liberty Times reported.
There is still a significant gap between the DPP’s governance at the local level and the expectations of the public, she said.

Boleh land erection ish more like us ish winner take all one.
Taiwan erection ish got separate into Presidency, mayors, legislators and MPs (and also glassloot leecher erection but that one usually not concerned by foreigners). This erection ish only involved the mayors and MPs nia. Presidency and legislators will be 2yrs later. For foreigners their presidency and legislators ish more important since it could suggest the diplomatic and economical directions that they are leading the countries.
Not sure ish green sour grape or not, but see some of their supporters claiming that it ish not a total defeat. They said dpp lose majority of the mayor seats but ish doing well on the MPs seats. The MPs ish supposed to have supervisory power over the mayors, so if the mayor side did not win enough MPs seats over mean they will not have absolute power either. So to KMT not really a victory as they need to secure both the mayor and majority MP seats so can jiak $$$ and run the city like their mini kingdom.
But mayorship ish still crucial for their presidency erection, as as mayor ish easier to rally support for the presidency candidates that they want to side with. So if KMT control mayorship for most of the cities especially the bigger one, mean their party candidate will have an easier time contesting the presidency 2 yrs later, provided there ish no infighting.
In boleh land as long as can secure majority seats in the erection, the PM basically can secure absolute power. If cannot get majority then llst have to work with some opp to form alliances to take govt, so ish not as complicated as Taiwan.
There was a time when the country asked ordinary men to do extraordinary things.
But now, they'll only do it for money.

legislator Chiang Wan. Is elected mayor of Taipei City in major win for KMT
A former legislator Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安), an alleged great-grandson of President Chiang Kai-shek, defeated a popular former health minister and a former deputy mayor to win the mayoralty of Taipei City back for the Kuomintang (KMT) in Taiwan's local elections on Saturday (Nov. 26).
When Chiang, 43, mounted the stage at his campaign headquarters at 8 p.m., four hours after voting ended, he was leading with about 42% of the vote. He was weill ahead of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate Chen Shih-chung (陳時中), who had about 31%, and independent Huang Shan-shan (黃珊珊), who trailed with 25% of the vote share, according to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission (CEC). Both Chen and Huang had already conceded defeat when Chiang took the stage to claim victory.

A lot of taiwanese felt this ish a waste of time that why dpp also find it hard to push for this, cause Taiwan share the same problem as many other democratic countries that when given a choice to vote, many do not want to go and vote, especially for the younger generation. Many rather stay home pak game or sleeping after watching WC.
So a lot of Taiwanese though don't mind this referendum but ish don't see the need to reduce the voting age since most youngsters do not like to vote even if you give them the right to do so. They felt if this kind of civil group ish really serious should push for compulsory votes first like Sinkapore to force people to vote instead.

Taiwan News) — Along with the municipal elections held on Saturday (Nov. 26), a referendum proposed by the Executive Yuan's cabinet to amend the Constitution to lower the voting age was also held. The referendum, which would have lowered the age from 20 to 18, ultimately failed to pass the necessary threshold.
According to the Central Election Commission's (CEC) vote count, at the time of publication, the vote on "yes" amounted to 5.63 million while the vote on "no" amounted to 5 million. Despite the lead, it was certain to fall short of the required 9.62 million votes required for a constitutional amendment by referendum, as over 99.9% of the polling stations had already submitted their vote tallies to the CEC.
It's widely believed that the high threshold to pass referendums makes any proposed amendments highly unlikely to pass.

If we allow 18 years old to vote. It is yet to be tested.
The old generation prefers stability
and the government is doing good performances except few hiccups.
The opposition parties still unable united
and attract more high calibre men and ladies to support them.
Unlike Malaysia, Anwar was ex DPM and ex UMNO youth leader and the slogan of reformasi attracts those who wish a change in government, especially the corruption is a norm.

Taiwan News — Taiwan's Kuomintang (KMT) won 13 out of the 21 city and county leadership posts up for election in 2022. They counted victories in Taipei City and Taoyuan City, which they lost to independent Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) and the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) Cheng Wen-tsan (鄭文燦), respectively, in 2014.
The election for the mayor of Chiayi City was rescheduled to Dec. 18 after one of the city's six mayoral candidates passed away in early November. The unfortunate news forced the city to restart registration procedures for the local election, as required by law.
In 2014, the then-opposition DPP defeated the KMT to secure 13 out of the 22 city and county leadership posts, leaving KMT to administer only six regions.
