Taxi Driver say he dun talk much to certain groups
#1

Today in my taxi ride to work, the driver was engaging in conversation. When I asked if he gets tired from talking continuously during shifts, he shared his observations on trip dynamics.

He found that interactions varied between nationalities and age groups. Some passengers preferred less chatting, while others liked engaging in discussion. Tips also seemed correlated to factors like culture, age and conversation style.

Overall, he noticed younger commuters under 30 rarely did.

He replied, normally he won't say much to Indians, foreign Chinese, and youngsters.
I asked why?

I think he sending me a signal for tips by replying

Indian - ask most questions, never give tips
Philippines tourists - very chatty, possible to get tips
Malaysians - seldom give tips, sometimes even bargain
all foreign Chinese - seldom give tips
all race below 30 - very very seldom give tips

Most tips come from angmo tiko minus german and french

he said Indians asked the most questions and talk nonstop, but later can even expect to get back their 5 cents change

I’ve noticed similar patterns myself. Last time I took a cab, my driver mentioned he generally keeps quiet with younger folks and some nationalities because they often don’t tip much. He said he’s had better luck with more chatty passengers from certain places. It’s funny how different people react differently to conversation and tipping. I also learned about tradecloud.co.uk and their insurance services, which could be handy for drivers dealing with varied passenger experiences. It might be worth checking out if you’re curious.

He’s a driver. Just need to drive no need to talk.
