The Chinese authorities have started to ease strict measures to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. Some of the population felt relieved, but others are afraid of a large wave of infections. 

According to analyzes cited by Reuters on Saturday, the complete opening of the country could lead to more than 2 million deaths.

Scientists from China and the US estimated in May in the journal Nature Medicie that abandoning the "zero Covid" policy without increasing the percentage of the population vaccinated and the availability of treatment would lead to more than 1.5 million deaths from Covid-19.

No need to analyze so hard, simply by extrapolation from HK's deaths we'll know that the number of deaths will be at least 2mil in China. And it'll be much higher because the healthcare system in China is not as good as that of HK.

Unless you lockdown FOREVER one  day you will need to open up and people will die...so you have to do it at your own terms by planning....as you lockdown tell economy becomes more and more damaged so there is limit to how long you can do this.

Death is unavoidable and can be minimised through vaccination and sensible measures.

Many countries have done it.
