The first inactivated vaccine developed in France-England. After the technology was previously piloted by China (Sinovac, Sinopharm) and India (Covaxin), the latest fixed-inactivated vaccine belongs to the French company Valneva. The vaccine is named VLA2001.
The VLA2001-treated group had a mean NAb antibody of 803.5, while the AZ-treated group had a mean NAb of 576.6.
Another selling point is Immunosuppressants in vaccine formulations It contains alum (found in Sinovac and Sinopharm) plus CpG 1018, a formulation developed jointly with Dynavax Technologies to enhance the vaccine's efficacy in both antibody and T cell immunizations. The lethal vaccine level is one step higher for this new vaccine.
