These Five Countries Are Laundering Russian Oil And Selling It To The West

These 5 laundromat countries includes Singapore.

China, India, UAE, Turkey and Singapore.

"CREA’s report shows seaborne imports of Russian crude oil to China, India, Turkey, UAE and Singapore increased by 140% in volume terms, or 182% in value from the year prior, since the eruption of the Ukraine war. The total value of their imports was 74.8 billion euros ($82 billion) over the 12 months, with the five countries accounting for 70% of Russia’s crude oil exports since the war began."

Their “laundering” operation is undermining the price cap on Russian oil and fueling the invasion, the analysts say.

“This is currently a legal way of exporting oil products to countries that are imposing sanctions on Russia as the product origin has been changed,” according to the report. “This process provides funds to Putinʼs war chest.”

Singapore impossible la..maybe someone sold to us with false label. You know how petrol are transported in oil tankers ? I know because I worked in a oil logistic company before.

Our oil tankers are very strictly scrutinised and labelled. Including using oil pipe tester which can id the origin of the oil. So if Russian oil is identified, PSA sure will not allow the tanker to move or unberth from Pasir Panjang ports. ( including where the oil tankers journey log is also recorded)

This is not a false 'accusation' (calling it an accusation is too much as it is not illegal). But then, it is not oil laundering too. Singapore did not follow EU sanctions on Russian oil as that is just EU's sanctions, not UN's sanctions. Russian oil import is not banned in Singapore. However, Singapore's financial institutions are banned from financing the purchase of Russian oil.

To the some westerners, they consider it as 'dirty' but it's legal for those countries to import Russian oil. Just that they cannot pay for it in USD.
