One of business owners told me the rental jumped significantly this year and she had no choice but renew rental lease for two more years for her business at a neighbour mall. In order to make it up she works longer hours until 9pm every day instead of 6pm….unlike other business owners, she never increases the prices, I have huge respect on her.

If I remember got Opposition mention High rental issue but this PAP will say " cannot control " They is not wrong in the sense those Private landlords. They increase and increase Govt also cannot do anything but I not sure these greedy landlord taxes also increase or not .

Well, what do they mean they can’t do anything to control? many of these commercial buildings are owned by big players that are partially government owned. For example, CapitaLand is primarily government-owned. Specifically, Temasek Holdings, a Singaporean state investment company, owns 52% of CapitaLand.

Mapletree is government-linked. Mapletree Investments is a real estate firm wholly owned by Temasek Holdings, a Singaporean state-owned investment company.
