Information

At the age of eight, Freddie Figgers learned the cruel truth about his origins through his father Nathan. As it turned out, Freddie was abandoned by his biological mother in the landfill when he was only 2 days old. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan sympathized with the fate of the child, so they decided to adopt Freddie even though his family also had many other children.

Freddie said, as soon as he learned that he was abandoned by his biological mother, he carried the guilt that he was just "a piece of trash". However, father Nathan said something Freddie never forgot.

After learning of his background, Freddie became the center of ridicule in the school. His friends called him derogatory names like "trash child"; "sack boy" so much that Freddie felt so useless himself. Once, he was grabbed by a group of friends and threw him in the trash with sarcastic words, stinging pain in his heart.

Turning point in life

When he was 9 years old, one day, he and his adoptive father went into a secondhand electronics store. They saw an old Macintosh and Freddie said he loved it. The father decided to buy his son this computer for 24 USD (more than 500,000 VND at the current exchange rate).

The computer could not work, but with a love of electronic technology, Freddie took it apart and began to explore the old computer to find out where the fault lies. And Freddie discovered that the capacitor of the computer was broken, he decided to take the parts of the alarm clock and radio to serve to repair the machine.

Freddie tried to fix it 50 times and finally, the computer booted, which filled Freddie with ecstatic joy. He shared that the computer replaced all the ridicule and pain he endured at school.

Although the young man had a talent for repairing networks and computers, it was software that was Freddie's real passion. He has designed banking security apps, a remote patient monitoring system for the elderly, and countless other pieces of software. In 2009, Freddie dropped out of college after being given the opportunity to design a $65,000 program.

The breakthrough came in 2012, when, in his early 20s, Freddie Figgers invented "smart shoe" technology, whereby he created a GPS tracker that could be attached to his father's shoes with Alzheimer's disease. dementia), when he was often out and thanks to this invention he was able to know where his father was and who he was talking to.
