The United Nations (UN) Security Council (DK) on Friday (22/12/2023), approved a resolution urging the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza . Yes, after 11 weeks of Israeli attacks on the Palestinian enclave,  the UN Security Council has yet to produce a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Palestinian enclave. The UNSC approved a softer resolution in an attempt to avoid a veto from the United States (US).

Although the United States abstained, US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield called the resolution a strong step forward.

The resolution passed with 13 votes in favor this time demands all parties to the Israel-Hamas conflict to allow the safe and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid on a large scale.
