Drunk S’pore driver who said ‘sorry’ before escaping from traffic police at 140km/h jailed 14 weeks

He repeatedly told his friend over the phone that he “ran away”.

14 weeks is too lenient for him.

He could had killed someone if continued his drunk driving.

Remember the case of the LTA enforcement officer who died while pursuing a teen biker? For the sake of public safety and their own lives, the traffic police should have just noted down the van's licence plate instead of giving chase. The offender drove dangerously by crossing lane dividers and weaving between other vehicles to the PIE before speeding from the Adam Road exit to Farrer Road. Innocent road users could have been killed or injured.
