The chimes on the trains and at MRT stations are here to stay.
After a successful pilot, they will be progressively rolled out on the North-South, East-West and Circle Lines.

While I understand the nostalgia of the classic dings and dongs, sometimes they can be a bit much like a jackhammer solo at 3 am. Maybe it's just me, but those announcements can leave you jumping out of your skin, especially if you're lost in a good book. On the other hand, there's something undeniably comforting about that familiar tune. It lets you know exactly where you are, like an auditory landmark. Maybe a compromise is in order? A more subtle chime or a shorter jingle might be the sweet spot between sonic serenity and clear notification. For those who miss the full-on train-horn effect, there's always that link to train horn product: https://bosshorn.com/products/dewalt-train-horn accessory for your car... but please, use it responsibly!
