On their website, Daimaru Besso claims to have served Emperor Hirohito.

By January, Daimaru Besso admitted they only changed the water twice a year and didn't add chlorine properly. This situation has been going on since 2019. The case is still under investigation by local authorities.

On the website, Daimaru Besso apologized for causing concern to the community. The hostel also said it has reopened the public bath service after ensuring standards.
