The invasion of Ukraine has not disrupted Russian gas supplies to Europe. ANALYSIS

Information

"The invasion of Ukraine has not led to any disruptions to Russian gas supplies to European consumers so far," Szymon Kardaś, an expert from the Center for Eastern Studies, wrote in the Thursday analysis. In the first days after the aggression, the transit of this raw material reached the maximum contracted daily level of 109.6 million cubic meters.

The expert pointed out that the invasion of Russia has so far not led to any disruptions in Russian gas supplies to European consumers. What's more - as he wrote - in the first days after the aggression, the transit of this raw material through Ukraine began to systematically increase, reaching the maximum contracted daily level of 109.6 million cubic meters. Gazprom has also resumed reservations for the capacity of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline.

In 2021 oil was trading at average $90 ber barrel. Now it is hovering $110 - 120 pb

Russia export 6million barrels per day - 3million to Europe, 1.5million to China, only 0.2million to US & UK. The rest go all over the world including India, Thailand, etc.

Everyday, Russia gets about $540million in revenue, and a further $200 to $300 million due to price hike.

As we can see, the US/UK ban has little impact on Russian earnings from its oil exports.

And because the post-Covid world economy is energy-hungry, manufacturing economies like China will gobble up excess Russian oil ditched by US/UK and from the lower domestic needs as a result of manufacturers exiting Russia.

And thanks to the US sanctions on Iran & Venezuela, the world's ability to pump out spare oil is maxed out.

The 25% price hike allow Russia to offer attractive discounts to keep existing buyers from jumping onto the sanctions bandwagon.

The US ban merely help to drive prices and cushion impact of sanctions on Russia. See the paradox here?

So whos the one being gamed here? It is the average citizens of the world, you & me including Americans who are paying for this through our pockets. Every dollar you take out more at the pump station goes towards paying for the Russian military operations in Ukraine.
