recently TPY got new BTO going to launch at Lor 6 there but the MOST Expensive in future will be those BTO flats around Caldecott MRT. Partly also in conjunction with a Shopping mall.

I also " suspect " as usual some plot of land there will be sold to private developer to build Condo.

The problem is the new flats are super tiny, the living room is about the size of a master bedroom of old flats, after you put a sofa and a table, not much space left. Worse still you can’t fit a King sized bed in master bedroom as it is too dmall.

Because the living room is too small, the designer joins the living area with kitchen, you put your tiny dinning table next to the kitchen boundary….some owners have to remove the wall of one of the bedrooms to make living area bigger.

The question is why they make new flats smaller and smaller? To maximise profit? If every flat is 10-15% smaller, they can build and sell 10-15% more units in a building, correct?

They can build higher blocks like 18-20 storeys, why must build smaller units?

You can literally go any New BTO flats see their design.

Standard , 4 tall blocks facing one another the middle is the fitness/playground the side is the RC centre , Kindergarden beside mulit storey carpark.

all 4 blocks will cramp together like that, why the unit have to shrink because to save the land.

They all look great from outside, got beautiful rooftop garden and good facilities, but the units are too small, you feel depressed living inside. My cleaning auntie told me she found it is hard to clean the floor in these new flats, because they are too small, not enough storage for stuffs, the young couples stack all the stuffs on the floor, very messy.
