In the larger context of living in an semi authoritarian state, it is never safe to be in opposition or voice opinion publicly that is against the govt. Look at the lawsuits lined up against engjneer Terry Xu. Hence most Sjngaporeans stay anonymous.

The system of power elite is designed to protect its own interests and power. 

Workers and ordinary citizens have little protection against lack of fairness and justice.

On one hand, yes RK lied in parliament (regardless of what she lied on), need to be dealt with seriously. If in US, she probably need to swear with the bible to say that she say nothing but the truth when she speak in parliament.

What sucks is RK lied is a fact now, but going after tons of other people in WP, be it they really tell her to lie, or tell her to keep quiet, is what leave a sour taste to those who think RK is wrong in the 1st place. After all, RK is the one who "swear with the bible", but a witch hunt is conducted to pull everyone in.

And don't think what our ministers said in parliament are all truth and nothing but the truth.. It is because we lacked of the data to prove that they are not telling the truth.. All these data are controlled by the govt.

It will only be make the truth when we change govt and all these data are unclassified. By then, it is opposition's time to put all the ministers and civil servants to go thru the same ordeal and see how they react.

I don't think the PAP MPs are saying the truth and nothing but the truth, only thing is that there is a lack of data to prove them wrong.  The PAP MPs on the other hand has a large army of helpers (civil servants) to dig out all the data that they want.  If only the PAP ministers are on the other side of the table, and they have to undergo the ordeal of WP MPs are under, the result will be much different.......

I think they are quite determined this time to crush the credibility of the WP.....despite what clearly use witch hunt techniques used including leading the witness and bias interpretation of the evidence. They will form damaging conclusions from testimony of RK led by ET to conclusions and disregard evidence that is against their conclusion.... because most do not watch the full video of the proceedings will be drawn to headlines and MSM conclusion. The SPH media being put under Koh Boon Wan who was PAP shows how much they care about neutrality and objectivity. If you are a reporter in SPH and your boos is who...how will you write? Every reporter will become like Sumiko Tan and Tan Mui Hoong. Is this country moving forward?

This will bring down WP at next election and secure PAP power.

You can imagine decades of suppression means WP had been practically walking on egg shells if not for this single.incident that allowed PAP to mount an severe blow to its prospects.
