Tsai is a well-known hawk. Cannot really see her playing peacemaker unless her character suddenly changes.

Only Tsai has room to manuevre and be the adult in the room as the playground quarrel threaten to escalate to a bloody nose.
Both Taiwan and US gains nothing from this visit. China perceive itself to be humiliated if visit goes through. Pelosi gives ammo to Republicans for the upcoming elections if she backs down. Republicans are now clamoring for her to go just like the UK Labor party urging Brexit so that the Conservatives trap themselves in a minefield. The toxicity of US politics get mixed into geopolitical tensions.
She should thank Pelosi for her flattering intentions go visit Taiwan in support of it's Democrats but it is really too inconvenient to host her in the midst of rising tensions. Only Tsai has the power to defuse tensions and go on the path of least damage that allow both sides to get off their cornered positions. She should do it.
The response from both sides to up the ante on an issue that should be quietly discussed and managed shows the deteriorating relations between both powers. Newt Gingrich visited Taiwan during a time when relations were much better.
2004 history repeating LEE TH is her mentor what.

Doubt she would do that. She is probably very eager for Pelosi to visit as it sends a strong deterrence signal regarding the defence arrangement between TW and US.

Tsai will take advantage of the situation to get more protection from the U.S and political gain for the elections….it is insane to think she will come out to be a peacemaker, she’s US lapdog 100%, worse than Japan. It is is said America is Daddy and Japan is mummy of Taiwan.

Not a word from her.
Every loud mouth is not opening.
Tsai is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Waiting to be whacked.

The statesmanship of Xi is very poor.
His BFF Putin just violated sovereign integrity of another nation creating conflict ..now he is talking sovereign integrity from another side of his mouth.
It's all bullshit . They only understand FORCE and use it.
Xi has lost support of HK people.
Under him the Chinese people want to leave China and protest over Bank deposit and property woes.
Xi is the most unpopular China president in Taiwan causing Taiwanese to support DPP because China keeps threatening them.
Under Xi relations with West went downhill.
Even relations with Singaoore is not doing well.

Is Ukraine a province of Russia?
We are not talking visit but an invasion.
Why the hypocrisy?

A few untruths in your statements.
First, Putin is not his BFF. They're currently aligned only because they are both being targeted by the US.
Second, the HK people does not support China at any stages from the time it is taken back. It is entirely Carrie's fault for not being able to handle the crisis and it takes China's intervention that they're finally able to have peace. If not, riots will still continue as in the past. Xi is not the problem.
Third, the rich and corrupted are being targeted by Xi, so their wanting to leave is a given. But does it mean that what Xi is doing is wrong? Or that he should stop stamping down on corruption?
Fourth, it is the US that started the provocation, with all these nonsense visits by politicians that do nothing except add oil to fire. And it is under Tsai that kept wanted to separate, even though from the very beginning it is already made clear to Taiwan that any talks of separation will be met with strong actions. This has always been the position regardless of which Chinese leader is in charge. Why not blame Tsai and the US for this? They could have maintained status quo instead of shouting for independence.
Fifth, Xi's relations with West went downhill because the US couldn't stand a competitor who can challenge their position as the sole superpower. Just look at who started the sanctions first. When they decided to sanction Huawei, did they provide any concrete evidence of wrong-doing? Nothing at all.

It is Tsai English who plays up the issue by engaging US consulting firms to work up the trip for Peilosi.
Now scared already, want to change roles?
