The cost of living in S'pore is ridiculous.  Not only are our overpaid politicians unable to control inflation, but are directly responsible for it by making our country a tax haven for super rich foreigners, who start buying freehold land after becoming new citizens. This causes the prices of residential properties and rental to shoot upwards. The cost of doing business skyrockets too, and consumers end up paying more for everything.

I fully agree that it is the favourable exchange rate that makes spending in JB cheaper for S'poreans and Malaysians who work in our country.

Saving money is a matter of survival for many S'poreans, though not for those car owners.

The behaviour of our greedy hawkers is getting out of hand. I ordered a Peranakan curry chicken from a stall in Tiong Bahru and all I received were chicken bones with slivers of meat hanging on them after paying $8.
