All their hard earned money went to support his horse faced cmi wife trying to eke out her dream of making it big as a singer.

Go google China Wine and see if such promiscuous actions, singing and gestures are considered evangelising. Wtf

It is unfortunate that Kong Hee and his church gave others a bad name. Things like this does happen.

However, the vast majority are sincere people who are genuinely spending their time to help others.

Recently few of this types of organizations appear in our local prime news to glorify their contribution to the society. They seems to be very hungry for donation.

All pastors are shady businessman in disguise
Why be a pastor when you can be a normal person
Unless you can gain benefits from being one
And suck in the gullible and gong kias
Unfortunately Singapore is NEVER short of gong kias

(16-04-2023, 07:50 AM)sgbuffett Wrote:  Because you cannot find you want to insinuate they have done no charity work. The core founders of this group gave up their time and put up their own money. They build from nothing to do so much.

How did I get to know this group was when they came over to my block to help refurbish one of the eldely's home. I myself had done nothing because I am so used to poor living conditions I did not think it was anything to be done. That day I help to do some painting by the time I saw them they were almost done so my help was minimal. I told them to call me the next time.

That was how I got to know them.

But what is great about these people is not that they change lives but that they change people's hearts. Their businesses hire ex convicts who find it hard to get jobs. ...that is the reason they started some of the businesses. When they reach out to help ex convicts they found this was the key problem. Bringing them in accepting them and changing their hearts they turn people around.

If you want to see their charity work which you claim you find no evidence, there is a number on the link I gave call it volunteer and see for your self.

I'm not insinsuating anything but I'm just telling people to be careful. Are we supposed to believe them just because they tell me they're a social enterprise? I'm not naive.

I'm sure if you look at what Kong Hee did he would have told you all those charitable work he has done, but that doesn't detract from the fact that he enriched himself at the expense of others.

And no, I re-iterate - if you do good work, good, but don't glorify your organisation by quoting policitians. Again, I said this, and most of the time it's true, if you strive too hard to promote yourself through association with politicians, you are most likely a scammer.

There are many negative comments somehow generate
. Some have spoken against posters some have spoken against charities and some have spoken against the food.

Maybe my photo did not do justice to the food as the pork chop was think and overall it was very filling...it was a bit too much rather than too little.

As for pastors...because of Kong Hee every pastor behave like Kong Hee? Just like losing money on one stock suddenly all stocks are bad. Knowing a few pastors, I dare say most are sincere, honest and sacrifice themselves to do good. They are also humble.

There has been charity scandals. Unfortunately, the governance and oversight can be improved. But most charities are doing good meaningful.work and people truly benefit. Even if you don't donate money join one as a volunteer this way your effort goes directly to help another.

Don't be so quick and eager to dismiss and criticise. Spend sometime with the charity so you can see for yourself.

That's all I have to say. As for the pork chop you have to go and try if yourself for the real taste.

There is always black sheep among us. Whats is most important is the relationship btw God and yourself then towards the community.
