Imposing 20% tariffs to imported products from all countries will disrupt the supply chains and cause price hike, inflation will go up as the U.S. importers will pass the tariffs to consumers

Banning the U.S. companies from outsourcing work to other countries is very hard to implement as the U.S. lost skilled workers and manufacturing industry, and the labour cost is much more expensive than that in other countries. In the end nothing gets done. American workers are also very lazy and tend to go on strikes for pay rises frequently with the support of Unions

As the labour cost is much higher, prices of all U.S. made products will go up drastically. If iPhones will be made in the U.S., they will be 5 times more expensive and nobody can afford.

Increasing protection fees will work as many countries need the U.S. presence and protection. NATO countries have to pay protection fees equivalent to 2% of their GDPs. Taiwan will have to buy more weapons and increase military spending to 10% of its GDP. Japan and Korea also.

Trump can’t block imports from overseas while the manufacturing industry is doomed.
