Indian national Pramender, 25, who goes by one name, pleaded guilty to molesting the girl and attempting to obtain an indecent act from her. The girl, now 13, cannot be named due to a gag order to protect her identity.


Deputy Public Prosecutor Ashley Chin said Pramender's offences took place on March 31 at Jalan Besar Swimming Complex, where the girl was swimming with her cousins. The girl exited one of the pools at about 5.50pm, and saw the accused, who was also in the pool, staring at her. The victim collected her phone and shower items, wrapped herself with a towel, and walked towards the female toilet. Pramender followed her from behind and caught up to her at the entrance of the female toilet. He then asked her to follow him on Instagram and the victim turned him down. Despite this, the man took her phone and as it was unlocked, he accessed her Instagram account and used it to follow his account.

3 Weeks’ jail for Indian student who molested stewardess on SIA flight

On May 14, Indian national Rajat, who goes by only one name, pleaded guilty to one charge of using criminal force with the intent to outrage modesty. The offence took place on Feb 28, when Rajat, who was studying at a university in Australia, was flying from Perth to Singapore. At 11.20am on SQ flight from Perth to Singapore., the stewardess was cleaning one of the restrooms and bent down to pick up a piece of toilet paper on the floor.  As she did so, (Rajat) approached her and placed both his hands on her hips, near her buttocks. He then pushed his way into the toilet, causing the victim to enter the toilet as well,” said Deputy Public Prosecutor Eugene Lau. Seeking a jail term of three to six weeks, DPP Lau said the stewardess had suffered some degree of psychological harm, noting that she felt afraid, disgusted and humiliated by what Rajat had done.

In mitigation, Rajat's defence lawyer Ranjit Singh noted his client’s "clean record and good conduct at school.".. He told the judge: “A fine should suffice, but if your honour is not with me on that, then I seek a short custodial sentence of one week.”

ST (2 May 2025) Indian national Rajpal Singh, 35, a former yoga instructor, who was sentenced to jail and caning in August 2024 for molesting three victims, has been granted a discharge over his two remaining charges linked to a fourth woman. This means he cannot be charged again over the same offences linked to the two charges. In August 2024, he was sentenced to 23 months’ jail and four strokes of the cane for molesting three other women when he was conducting classes with them.
