When I was helping a friend promote her handmade jewelry line, we played around with skimming pricing at first, setting higher prices because the pieces were unique and took a lot of time to create. It attracted a certain group of customers, but we later found that switching to value-based pricing made more sense because people were more willing to pay for quality craftsmanship.
