U.S.A. PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS 2024
#91

The 2024 campaign will now turn on whether Trump can blunt Harris’ soaring start. Donald Trump’s campaign, which has whiffed in its early attacks on Kamala Harris’ new presidential campaign, will grapple this week for a more effective foothold after vice president transformed an election of stunning surprises.

The ex-president has deployed some of his most trusted political tools — targeting racial identify, creating alternative realities, flinging insults and gaslighting. On Sunday, he spread a new false conspiracy theory over the size of Harris’ rally crowd in Michigan last week. His efforts to bring down his new adversary & her policy of ignoring his provocations have so far more highlighted his own liabilities than hers & emphasized way Harris could offer a new choice for voters. When the ex-president called Harris “dumb” at a Montana rally Friday or falsely claimed last mth that she “happened to turn Black,” he may have delighted his base voters. Those kinds of comments risk alienating women swing-state voters, as well as reversing gains he has made among minorities.

Kamala Harris might trigger Trump's biggest vulnerability. Democrats have long believed the best way to beat Donald Trump is to remind Americans why they turned against the former president in the first place. While Vice President Kamala Harris isn't yet his official opponent, her mere presence could provoke such a reaction.

Trump has long executed a brutal playbook against his political opponents. He questioned Jeb Bush's energy, Marco Rubio's height, and Ron DeSantis' sincerity (Trump's allies went after DeSantis' eating habits).

Trump have problem hearing, his right ear is been shot and damage by the shooting...

Top Republicans call on Trump to stop insulting Harris, refocus on policy.

Donald Trump is facing growing calls from Republican supporters to shift his attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris to focus on policy criticism rather than ad hominem comments and conspiracy theories. Trump over the weekend falsely accused Harris of using AI technology to create fake images of her rallies, which have regularly drawn tens of thousands of attendees.
Harris has yet to unveil official policy proposals, though she said her campaign would roll out an economic policy platform in the coming days.

Trump’s continued attacks on Harris’ rise stir fears he could question election outcome if he loses in November.  Kamala Harris is officially Democratic presidential nominee, but Donald Trump is continuing to describe the vice president’s elevation to the top of her party’s ticket as “unconstitutional” and accusing her of taking part in a “coup.”

No serious effort to challenge Harris’ status as the Democratic nominee is underway. But some of Trump’s critics warn that the former president could be laying the groundwork to question the outcome of the 2024 election if he loses a second time.

Democrats are set to gather next week in Chicago for a national convention at which they’ll rally around Harris as their new standard-bearer after President Joe Biden’s decision not to seek reelection.

Trump has the inklings of a plan to take on Harris, but he seems unable to implement it. Donald Trump showed up in battleground North Carolina for a big speech on the economy – and one of his unhinged rallies broke out.

But amid the insults, trash talk, rage and lies, the former president blundered into the thing he’d been seeking for days: a strategy to take on Vice President Kamala Harris.

The former president took the stage Wednesday with Republican commentators pining for signs that he’d stabilized after more than three weeks of fury and disorientation after President Joe Biden pulled out of the 2024 race.

New poll shows Kamala Harris beating Trump...
Former President Trump’s campaign plane suffered mechanical problems en route to his Montana rally this weekend, might as well have been a political metaphor come to life. On Sat, NY Times’s Maggie described Trump’s recent run of bad polling & rough outings “worst 3-weeks” of his campaign putting it lightly. After a one&half year commanding headlines coasting toward a general election victory, Trump’s campaign seem to be falling apart in every-way imaginable by his private fury, he's well aware of his moment is slipping away. He’s slide in polls can be attributed to a few factors, from his terrible vice presidential pick to President Biden’s unexpected departure from race late June also a factor at play: voters have seen he is politics of rage & division before. Given fresh choice, most Americans are eager for something anything new. Cool

A new crop of national & state-level polls bear out reality voters are simply ready to move on from the Trump show, they’ve now been watching for somethings better part of 2024. A NY Times-poll released found Vice President Kamala Harris has 50-46 in each key battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, & in Wisconsin. Dogging
into poll, one’ll discover topline numbers are just tip of a political iceberg for Republicans. Nearly 1/2 of those surveyed (48%) said they either dissatisfied or outright angry with him, his running mate, JD Vance, compared to 25% who said they were satisfied. Only 19% of voters said they were enthusiastic. By comparison, Harris’s veep, Tim Walz, bests Vance in every category: 21% of voters say they are enthusiastic about Walz, while 27% are satisfied Harris made the right choice. Tellingly, only 36% say Harris made a mistake in picking Walz.

The 12-point dissatisfaction gap between Vance vs Walz could be decisive in a race that likely to be decided by single-digit vote margins across the Rust Belt. Voters also seem to be aware of the big changes Trump would bring if he were to march back into White House in 2025.

More than a 1/3 of surveyed Americans (36%) agreed the former president would “tear down the system completely” if he wins — & they aren’t thrilled about it. A full 45% of Americans believe Trump’s chaos agenda would be bad for country, with 4 in 10 saying a 2nd Trump administration would be “very bad.” Trump’s biggest liability, is that voters know him well, don’t trust his policy judgment or his ability to pick a potential successor. Democrats, while, can credibly run as party willing to make meaningful reforms while protecting the nation’s core institutions. Trump is unable to pivot on issue. Millions of Americans watched him cheer on violent attack on Capitol on Jan-6, 2021, then pledge to consider freeing those involved. Good luck convincing those voters that he suddenly cares to upholding America’s democratic order.

Harris’s surge across swing states comes to more than offering U.S. people a more optimistic vision for the future. Voters made clear, they weren’t excited about a Biden-Trump rematch be'cos it represented continuation of a battle U.S. people had long since grown tired of watching, listening to public & stepping aside, Biden facilitated a campaign reset that he, (Trump) campaign is incapable of countering. Problem with a 2024 Biden/Trump rematch was always Biden/Trump. Former president may spend next few months calling Harris stupid & questioning her racial identity, none of that will change the reality he is now sole remaining actor in a play U.S. voters mind, they are eager to stop watching. Given the choice, voters are clearly ready to vote for the only candidate who can offer them a break from their 2020 nightmare flashbacks.

Trump fails for a schoolyard taunt that’ll work against Harris. Former president has tried and abandoned several monikers for his new Democratic opponent. He has long used nicknames for many of his political opponents, but cannot work in Harris.

He loves to brand his opponents with nicknames. But he hasn’t been able to settle on one for Vice President Kamala Harris.

The former president, who rarely mentioned Harris until after President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance, tried out “Laffin’ Kamala” before pivoting to “Lyin’ Kamala,” then jettisoned that for “Crazy Kamala,” which he interspersed with misspellings of her name.

Harris hopefully can keep up with her image.. as of now, it appears that cracks are showing up on her economic plans and chances are if she gets elected USA has about the same shit with a even faster debt growth... Somehow she appears to be better than what she is capable of. Donald Trump on the other hand has a stinky mouth but is a better biz man.

Harris and Trump both hate inflation. Their economic proposals could cause prices to go higher. Inflation is slowly moving back to what’s considered a more sustainable pace, but for many Americans, it’s hard to take solace: The post-pandemic spike in price hikes drastically increased the cost of living.

Both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have pledged to bring those costs down. But some economists warn that the candidates’ aims — including an initial economic policy laid out Friday by Harris and the economic-related statements made in recent months by Trump — could push prices higher … and in the latter’s case, possibly much higher.

Both candidates’ plans would probably raise the deficit & increase demand, including through govt spending and tightening the labor mkt.

Trump shares doctored images showing Taylor Swift support. WASHINGTON – Donald Trump has shared doctored images showing Taylor Swift and her fans supporting his presidential campaign, in an apparent effort to tap the singer’s megastar power in the US election.

Swift has not yet publicly thrown her weight behind any presidential candidate in the Nov 5 election, but she backed President Joe Biden in 2020 and has previously been critical of Trump.

On Aug 18, Mr Trump shared screenshots of posts with manipulated images – including some an expert said appeared to be generated using artificial intelligence (AI) – suggesting that the pop star and her fans, popularly known as Swifties, support his campaign.

At the kick-off to the 4-day Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Monday night.

President Joe Biden passed donkey party’s torch to Vice President Kamala Harris, as electrified crowd awaited coronation of nation’s first black woman as any party’s presidential nominee.

As final speaker on opening night, Biden received resounding ovations for his 50-plus years of service to country & gratitude for stepping away from campaign trail due to his age. In what sounded like a State of the Union address, he listed accomplishments of his and Harris’ administration, particularly expansion of NATO to include Sweden and Finland and standing up to Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.

Ukraine's F-16s may be getting long-range cruise missiles to hit targets hundreds of miles away: report. US is in discussions to send long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine, a US official told Politico. This would allow Ukraine's F-16 fighter jets to hit targets hundreds of miles away. The missiles could be delivered this year, one Ukrainian source told the Kyiv Independent. Biden administration is considering sending long-range cruise missiles for Ukraine's new F-16 fighter jets so they can hit targets more than 200 miles away, Politico reported, outlet cited a US official and two people familiar with the discussions who agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity. Ukraine received its first batch of US-made F-16 fighter jets from NATO allies late last month, after a long wait. While the F-16 Fighting Falcon is a powerful fourth-generation aircraft intended to boost Ukraine's air capability, its effectiveness depends in part on the weaponry it is equipped with.

Trump defends personal attacks against Harris: ‘I’ve always spoken my mind’ former President Trump defended his attacks against Vice President Harris’s personal attributes  intelligence, he doesn’t think those attacks are necessary to win the election in November.

When first asked whether targeting his political opponent’s intelligence and personal characteristics was part of a winning message for key voters, Trump said, “No I don’t think so,” and pivoted to attacking her policy record.

“I think, the message is what a bad job they’ve done. I mean, if you look at this economy, if you look at inflation — and you know, I love this country. I have to do what it takes to win,” he continued. “I have to get this country going, because we’re going to lose our country.”

The former president, however, continued to hit Harris when pressed further about why he is going after her intelligence.
