Moving away from a base 10 system to a base anyhow system (1 yard = 3 feet, 1 foot =  12 inches).

They are not leaving metric. It's mainly for supermarket and food items that are still commonly sold in pounds. Beer in pints etc.

It's still a dumb idea though.
