Too small to receive that many tourists.
I think for those countries next to each other, most of their tourists are from neighbouring countries. I think a lot of our 'tourists' come from Malaysia and Indonesia.
USA and Mexico pair is another example. They visit each other A LOT.

Lots? Er, our numbers are small compared to the large countries which have MANY cities with also a lot of hotels. How to compare? We only 1 single city.

B4 Covid19, a survey shown arrival international tourists visited Singapore on average one and a half days.
Recorded, a large numbers came thru causeway from Malaysia.
That's very very short stay by any standard..

Being reported as the World's most expensive city, the numbers of international visitors to Singapore will certainly, spiral downward

So, what has gone very wrong?
Maybe SWF, Temasek shouldnt have invested in FTX cryptocurrency but instead donate those $377 million to UN World Tourism Org.
A very Good chance, Singapore be ranked within top 10 in 2023.
