Now suddenly reversed the decision to allow use of components from China.   

Can't work lah.

Just like Apple iPhone which is also made in China and sold in the US. For EV from China whether it is imported by Volvo or not will be slammed with a stiff tariff of 27.5%. Some Industry Analysis think Geely and Volvo won't make much but they will gain foothold
