This is a weak Govt to handle a small country. After so many years, they are still as ineffective. 

There should be 2 steps considered before retrenchment takes place. Companies are expected to reduce the non- local headcount first  after which, see how the working hours can be reduced by 25%.

The reason it is so difficult for S'poreans to land a white collar job is because our govt prefers to absorb Indians who will otherwise be unemployed in their own country.
