Or China Russia may have a new jammer that blinds the sonar radar beam sensors that the sub don't even know about? How can a big mountain cannot see ah?
Fire the captain first and salvage the situation later, isn't it in Hollywood movies?

Aljilani sounds like an Arabic name. Anyway, submarines operate blind underwater, only sonar. Not sure whether the collision could have been avoided if the obstacle was uncharted.

you might be right to say he could be Arab, but the US is a multicultural society, White House communication secretary is called Psaki, Polish and Greek descendant. Former White House Chief of Staff John Sununu was also an Arab.

To have an accident whilst in the sea is no laughing matter for a nuclear powered submarine...cos if the core of the nuclear sub. is compromised or destroyed it can contaminate much of the sea around it, making it radio-active and dangerous to humankind and sea creatures alike... Tongue Rolleyes
