Since our Govt expects us to bag our food waste and garbage before throwing them down the rubbish chute, plastic bags are essential items which we are now forced to pay for. NTUC FairPrice has factored in the price of their plastic carriers into their groceries, and now earn extra by charging shoppers by the bag. Selling their own brand of plastic carriers now is just adding insult to injury.

From 0 to 5c that is 500% profit. It's no brainer.
On the books operating expense become pure revenue profit, which business is foolish not to adopt.

It is our problem once rats find their way into our homes. It is not just landed property residents who face such issues. A HDB flat dweller living on the 4th floor also told CNA about his rat infestation.
