Hezbollah is a Shia Muslim organisation which is politically influential and in control of the most powerful armed force in Lebanon. It established in early 1980s. It region's most dominant Shia power, Iran, to oppose Israel. At the time, Israel's forces had occupied southern Lebanon, during the country's civil war.

Hezbollah has participated in national elections since 1992 and has become a major political presence in southern part of Lebanon.

Its armed wing has carried out deadly attacks on Israeli and US forces in Lebanon. When Israel withdrew from Lebanon in 2000, Hezbollah took credit for pushing them out.

Aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) is approaching the Persian Gulf as of Thursday and its escorts were spotted outside Strait of Hormuz in Gulf of Oman, said ship spotters. If strike group passes through Strait of Hormuz it would be the first time a U.S. aircraft carrier sails in the Persian Gulf since USS Nimitz in late 2020.

The Ike CSG deployed on Oct. 14, from Naval Station Norfolk strike group was initially going to take up station in the Mediterranean Sea and relieve USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), but was instead routed to U.S. Central Command following the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks in southern Israel. Ike transited Suez Canal on Nov. 4 into Red Sea and transited the Bab el Mandeb into the Gulf of Aden over the weekend.

As of Thursday, Ford and its escorts had moved west from their previous position off coast of Israel to south of Crete, said ship spotters. As of Sunday, Ford strike group will have been deployed for 200 days after extensions signed by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

Tel Aviv : For the first time a mixed-gender battalion of combat and rescue fighters is fighting inside the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces announced on Sunday

A mixed force from the "Shahar" Battalion in the Rescue and Training Brigade of the Home Front Command joined the ground forces' activity in Gaza, the IDF said.

The female and male fighters of the battalion joined brigade combat teams in the 162nd division for tasks such as scanning buildings and locating weapons in the area of the Shati refugee camp. The camp is a Hamas stronghold in northern Gaza.

During a raid on a hotel where Hamas terrorists were hiding, soldiers also uncovered an underground floor in a hotel where intelligence material was found.

The Shahar Battalion's engineers also advise ground soldiers on the safety of damaged buildings they consider entering.

Four-day ceasefire in Gaza between Israel and Hamas has begun at the scheduled time of 7am.
With 13 women and children set to be freed in hostage deal will be freed by Hamas on Friday around 4pm. Qatar foreign ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari added.
