Mortgage rates surge to 6 percent
Most expected mortgage rates to rise this year, but it happened faster than predicted, with rates breaking through 6 percent on some 30-year fixed loan offers in June — a figure not seen since 2008.
Although the Federal Reserve doesn’t influence rates on fixed mortgages, its recent move to raise the federal funds rate due to inflation — and the indication it’ll continue to raise that rate this year — does have some impact on mortgages.

with all investment pull out, cut off tie totally, followed by sanction, frozen china oversea asset, stop SWIFT, unpeg HKD, better for china to closed their door & go back to 80s to sustain ccp.
3 generation of wealth will be totally wiped off in this china financial turmoil.

Rates quoted by US Banks actually dipped for the current period. 30 years fixed dropped from 5.955% in April to 5.875%. Almost all the housing loan rates are fixed rates.

Mortgage rates rise again, pricing more buyers out of the housing market
The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5.81% in the week ending June 23, edging up from 5.78% the week before, according to Freddie Mac.
This time last year, rates averaged 3.02%, and the last time rates were this high was in the winter of 2008.
