" tried imagining them dying, and what I would do when I hear the news. My only reaction would be "so? Die? Errrrr ok. When is the funeral then?"
Err.. this person expect others to settle his/her parents' funeral for him/her and he/she just need to attend?

1. I have served the nation in a combat unit for 2.5 + 10 years. I had fulfilled my duty as a citizen, but has the country do it's part for me?
2. I don't know where the threat of CCP is, but I know the threat of CECA is already at my doorsteps
3. I had been called a CCP, JHK, Pinoy, but they never called me a CECA..

It's got nothing to do with moral compass. Some families simply don't have close ties to begin with.

Some children from broken families even harbour hatred for their parents.
But one from a normal upbringing will no matter how, respect own parents.
But there will always be a generation gap.
This gap can be very wide.
