Groundwork for a digital Singapore dollar is underway, but the central bank has said it is not in a hurry to roll out the e-currency yet. The Monetary Authority of Singapore has launched Project Orchid to work with industry partners to build the necessary competencies and tech infrastructure. Speaking on the second day of the Singapore FinTech Festival, MAS chief Ravi Menon said an e-dollar could help firms link up with payment systems more easily.
