A decline in sales or earnings is often a precursor to layoffs. Rising operational expenses such as rent, wages or materials, puts pressure on a company's bottom line. A stop to new hiring is a common sign of cost-cutting. Staff may be asked to take on additional responsibilities or work longer hours, indicating a reduction in staffing levels.

Start to control OT lah.Â
It is the first early warning signal.
The plps wil be protected, wont be retrenched for the first few waves lah.
Dont do illegal thing in the company like vaping. You may retrench without getting retrenchment benefits as you have broken the Sg law.
