Remember US promise to Ukraine , "our support to Ukraine is as solid as rocks (坚如磐石)".
The same promise to Taiwan.
Behind the scene, US kept stirring shit asking Ukraine to provoke Russia for war. Biden had meeting with Putin telling Putin, just do a small scale war, US would tolerate. If big scale attack of Ukraine, US would impose an unprecedented sanction of Russia. In other words, US wanted a small scale war. The purpose is a war in Europe will drive EU to unite with USA as Biden found recently that EU doesn't follow US command.
Another purpose is a war would drive capital flee from Europe to USA to have a crisis like 1997 Asian financial crisis. So that US can reap big financial benefits like in 1977 in Asia. But not all capital flee to US. Actually some capital flows to China. Biden was disappointed. You can see this?
