Why America is bad at math?

- Americans continually score either in the mid- or bottom-tier when it comes to math and science compared to their international peers.
- Students have a fundamental misunderstanding of what math is and what it can do. By viewing it as a language, students and teachers can begin to conceptualize it in easier and more practical ways.
- A lot of mistakes come from worrying too much about rote memorization and speedy problem-solving and from students missing large gaps in a subject that is reliant on learning concepts sequentially.

Good in Maths is over rated.
End of the day look Americans still the Inventors , German also
Come Asia, Japan and South korean , their maths also not say good yet can invent , research new things

Us education is poor in maths & geography
but science is still good, many areas still leaders.
To have successful product, depend more on companies effort than education institution
and of course ability to lure talents round the world.
Though overdo it likely to cause some loss of skills too.
Sg is too small, un focus and more keen to support MNCs
than develop their own.
