Germany has historically relied on resources like natural gas from Russia to meet its energy needs. Russian gas has been a significant part of Germany’s energy mix due to its relatively low cost and the infrastructure in place, such as the Nord Stream pipelines, which directly connected Germany with Russian gas supplies.

Germany has no choice but to be more innovative in their products in the markets or reconnect to the Russian pipelines. The latter is a better choice.

Industrial development is just cyclic in nature. When the peak is reached, it will go down hill unless they can revitalize and innovate. That happened to the US, England, Japan, now Germany. China will b the next to come.
