Bought tausar pia at Giant $1.40, same tausar pia at ntuc $1.80. Hosen canned button mushroom, ntuc selling $1.30, special offer $1.25, Hosen canned button mushroom SS selling $1. Even Giant cannot tahan the high rental yet Malaysian born Amy said rental not responsible for high prices.

retail grocery is a tough business. one old timer describe it as keeping a dinosaur in the back yard. constantly got to find food to feed it. referring to the rental.

giant used to be a store l like to go. it has fresh apples, a good product similar to cold storage at a lower price.
also one can go to buy resonable good bakery produced at affordable price. these are some how gone. not so good in taste.

some store really need to down size as the estate grow old the needs and buying power goes down. imagine children all grow up they move to other new estate, left 2 or 1 old people how much can consume.

so grocery store got to adjust. reduce size or move on to other estate.

Last month July it was Giant Hypermart in Sembawang Shopping Center.

Next month Sep it will be the Giant Supermart at Toa Payoh Central
