Maybe he is like Linus V. Pelt who needs a Security Blanket

Need to cling on to his father's legacy

Because he cannot achieve such worldwide praise with 以德服人

and a capable spouse all at the same time

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

His father has emphasized not to worship him so any physical structure will be deemed as such. Of cuz ppl use nice wording in living memory which to me is same as worship a mortal who achieve extraordinary achievement that has yet to be repeated by his offspring when he rules.

The daughter should have just told the father when he is alive to demolish the house and not put in the will to demolish it after it is gone and after the daughter cease to stay in it

It is an oversight of hers and the younger brother not to foresee the elder bro has a card up his sleeve as he is the govt

Wait until the father passed away end up too late to save the situation

Should lay the cards all on the table, while this is hard to do, the father should know his own children well enough

LKY left the mess to his children because he does not understand them at all

They can't live together and will not cooperate

So he should settle it once and for all before he kapult

It seems he may have a slight preference to have his legacy retained by not having the house demolished

That's why he left it to the govt to decide

Which he knows will retain the house

To say that he has no control over what the govt will decide to do with the house is not in his character

He knows

In essence, LKY actually played his daughter and younger brother out

Because he knows he has full power while he is alive to ensure his wish all come true

If he really wanted the hose demolished, no one, actually no one can stop him while he is alive

Even when the matter had went to the court, if he is firm, which he is, nothing the govt can do but to follow

He is afterall the chief of the govt, even though he pretends not to be

The younger brother and the daughter should just have told him bluntly he will leave a mess behind but I guess they know
what is on the old man's mind so dare not raise the demolish matter up with him

As an observer, if old man wants to demolish the house, and REALLY want to, then do it when he is alive

No need to give the excuse the daughter is staying in it

He would not expect someone never listen to him lah.

LKY did this becos after visting one very famous artist exhibition “home” if I did not remember wrongly. It is beyond maintenance and very run-down.

How a private property ended up with parliament making decision? Not to mention it’s the private property of our founding father. Absolutely no respect and see him no up.

Nehru

But you forgot, while LKY was alive, the issue of 38 Oxley being turned into a public state owned asset was already raised in Parliament

He just said let the govt decide as it will be out of his hands

It is not LHL's idea to bring the matter to parliament, but somehow it was already raised there, when LKY is still alive

So, I believe LKY must have some understanding with LHL on what to do in this event, when LKY was alive

Should be fighting inflation
Should be fighting Mynmar for being such a arse hole government
Should be fighting cyber scams
Should be fighting money laundering
Yet fight own siblings
Now gone, said so nice words about her that make your body clingy
