Why SIA oldest aircraft Boeing 777-300ER is 18 years old this month still in operation?
The average age of SIA Boeing 777-300ER fleet is 14.9 years old.
Most other Airlines average aircrafts retired age around 15 years

while the average age of SIA 777-300ER was 14.9 years this one has already passed its retirement age.
Most other Airlines average retired age around 15 years.

That's why SIA is ranked outside top 20 safest airlines ratings.
"Considering international travelers paying premium fares and taking higher risk factors flying those 777-300ER almost 15 year old aircrafts, is it worth the money?
The onus is on SIA CEO"

Could it be that this aircraft is 18 years old but the actual amount years in operation is much less? Thus the plane is still not considered old enough to retire?

Why don't u write in to ask SIA directly and share with us the reply instead of trying to guess?

SpaceX to Mars not ready yet
Skytrax has all the answers for awarding SIA as World's Best Airlines for an extended 5 years ..
Despite, SIA having a fleet of extremely old aircrafts and not ranked within Top 20 safest airlines ratings.
Only God knows
