Why are unmarried people on the increase worldwide?

It has been suggested by academics that traditional views on marriage and family are evolving, with more people prioritising personal fulfilment, career goals and independence over traditional family structures. As women become better educated, they are more likely to delay marriage or choose to remain single to pursue their careers. Economic uncertainty makes it difficult for people to form stable relationships and start families. Urbanisation leads to more opportunities for social interaction so people may want to have several casual partners and are discouraged from marriage.

I often have difficulty finding a good reason to leave home these days. I WFH 2-3 days per week, order groceries online, have meals delivered to my home, watch movies on Netflix and Disney+, shop from online stores and enjoy access to entertainment via my laptop and iPad all day long. That is the problem facing our young people nowadays, and contributes to their greater loneliness and isolation. In the end, many of them do not actually know how to make friends, which is so sad. Is it any wonder that there are far more singles these days?

The traditional "nice guy" archetype is becoming less prevalent for single women. Many people (both male and female) are realising that being kind and considerate doesn't guarantee reciprocal treatment, especially in romantic relationships. While it's still possible to find genuine connections, it's important to set boundaries and prioritise personal well-being. Financial security and personal fulfilment are increasingly valued, as they can provide a sense of stability and independence that emotional relationships may not always offer.

on the increase or decease is not important because you cannot control the trend.
what the govt can control is to slow down the rate of decrease or increase.
instead of assuming more baby incentives or parental leaves can solve the problems, the govt should find out
what the singles want to get married.
PAP never find out from singles and assume these incentives are affordable, this issue will never be solved.

Relationship problems are not easy to handle.
Lots of tolerance, give and take. Trust the most important ingredient.
No marriage. Less problems.
The younger generation prefers to avoid.

Lesser body strength jobs, as more female enter job market, expectation changes.
second people spending less time with family.
Also culture and religious weaken, morals and bonding weaken.

Apart from the difficulty finding a compatible partner with so much of our time and energy spent at work, the high cost of living prevents many S'poreans from contemplating marriage or having children even after settling down. The SG govt has not only not managed inflation, but is the main cause of rising costs because of their myriad of indirect taxation that is milking us of our hard earned money.

the govt has to do a online national survey to all singles.
the singles will log in using singpass and name one wish to PAP to get married.
if PAP can grant their wishes which are practical, they must marry to get the PAP wish.
PAP has never done any national survey.
PAP does not know what singles want to get married.
let me share a story.
a friend at 30 found a girlfriend.
at 35, he was ready to marry.
he applied a hdb which would be ready in 5 years.
so he got married at 40.
he said PAP should grant him to get hdb in 2 years and not in 5 years.

It is becos more and more women have become hunters(meaning, no need men for food), no more becoming distributor as their main role in a family.
This is why gender equality is against Law of Nature.
